“Good people will do good things, lots of them, because they are good people. They will
do bad things because they are human.”
I resonate to this quote by Mr. Harold S. Kushner a lot. And it won’t be an exaggeration
to say, that somewhere this resonation struck the chord of this book, “ I Ain’t A Saint.”
I am an Impish Lass, a human like you , reading this right now. I unapologetically admit
that in the course of my life, I have done things that are considered wrong by the
society. I also firmly believe that, IT’S OKAY. Because that’s what human life is all
about, duality. Of the good and the bad, the right and the wrong. Hence, I don’t consider
myself, or anyone else, a saint. I wanted to give my writers who share this opinion and
belief of mine, a platform to share their experiences, and that is why this book has been
created, to show the world what being a human is all about. Scripture says that we are
born sinners.
When Arun was questioning his existence with ‘Who am I?’ Dhwani and Rachana
immediately responded with – I Ain’t A Saint. While Col Bhatia was playing the blame
game doubting others’ intentions , Rhea extended a hand of friendship . When
Gurmani and Alisha were busy with their insatiable obsession, Sandipani advised
them to get rid of their forbidden desires and pay attention to the line of duty. And
then appeared utterly confused Rodman with what we do in the shadows but to his
surprise got two experts, Rita and Mousumee suggesting him to have darkness under
the lamp or better blame the dappled sunlight. Soumya had a close encounter with
the long arm of the law, Vaishali stepped forward to support her as that’s what being
human is all about. When The Impish Lass ( TIL) declared that she was a thief, Seema
suggested she should become the philanthropic thief .
