An Entrepreneur on a Mission of Free Publishing

When an Educator turns into an Entrepreneur for making a difference in the lives of budding writers and poets nothing can stop her from fulfilling her vision of-

EACH SOUL THAT WRITES HAS THE RIGHT TO GET PUBLISHED.

Three years back when she published her first autobiographical book, “The Impish Lass,” she realized how these so called self-publishing houses charge exorbitantly and an author is left with no choice but to agree to all the terms and conditions laid down by them. She was furious when she saw her book in print . The paper quality was pathetic. Typesetting was terrible and overall it was a disaster. The content was appreciated by the readers and it received a 4.5 star rating on amazon.in with raving reviews from people across the country inspite of its poor quality print.

The first thing that crossed  her mind was to have her own publishing house one day and provide a platform to the people across the globe  who want to get published but hesitate due to the expenses involved in it.

The Impish Lass Publishing House have been successful in  providing a platform to more than 500 writers, poets and professionals from various fields to publish  their articles, poems and stories in the anthologies published under their  banner. Their anthologies are unique as they don’t deal with regular theme of love and lust instead they deal with the social issues like environmental issues, healthcare nee ds, protecting farmers, saving girl child, societal discrimination and inequality, employer-employee relationship, gratitude, epistles, travelogue, entrepreneurship, patriotism, life of soldiers  and lot more

The Impish Lass Publishing House has successfully published 30 books in a year’s time including the books published for poets living  in UK and US.

Some of their projects are-

 The Young Bards  Project :

It’s a pilot project of  The Impish Lass Publishing House that aims at developing in the young minds a revived interest for arts and literature by publishing the articles of students and educators whose  creative  work have never seen the day of light .This is a free publishing project for schools where in the cost of the entire publishing process is borne by the publishing house. They have successfully published the articles, poems and stories written by the students of India as well as UAE under this project.

Some of the Anthologies Published by Them:

  • Meticulous Men of Mettle is a breakthrough anthology with a unique theme, where Men are given platform to voice their plight. Yes! Believe it or not! Men too have their own pains which we are oblivious of due to various reasons and one amongst them is the societal pre-impose thought of “Men never cry” and this is what makes them look dry .This book mirrors the “Portraits of Men’s World”- about those exceptional MEN who have faced serious challenges, several hurdles and several odds and yet rose up like a Phoenix and become vibrant and successful in their lives ahead! This book has been recommended to the students of IGNOU, Delhi by their honourable faculty Dr.Nandini Sahu (HOD- Humanities).
  • Speak your Mind deals with issues that plague our nation and proving to be detrimental to the progress of the nation. Over 40 writers expressed serious concern and wrote on subjects like Reservation policy, corruption, education policy, health care, politics in sports, caste system, insult to army and soldiers, Swatcha Bharat, Girl Child , Crime on Women and Safety and many. This book was sent to Hon’ble Prime Minister and even received acknowledgement from Director PMO.
  • INKED THOUGHTS: A collection of epistles .Epistles have long been the testaments of love and longing, dreams and desires, fears and fancies. Once upon a time they found their cosy corners within the wings of friendly pigeons, later they reached the hands of cordial messengers. Now that the pigeons have flown away and the messengers have disappeared with time, traditional epistles are written less and less. This does not, however, mean that epistles have become the things of the past now. Instead of turning into curios, they have survived in a diverse forms and spirit. To revive this form of literature The Impish Lass Publishing House published a collection of epistles written by 60 writers across the world. This book was launched by Asian Literary Society, New Delhi on October 14th 2018.

“ How has the project undertaken by Meena Mishra  helped the budding writers?” I asked  Meghal  Walendra,  a parent of grade 4 student, Kankai Walendra and her reply surprised me.“My daughter used to write poems since she was in grade 3 but never did I imagine that she can become a published poet.. The Impish Lass Publishing House published her poem in their anthology “Scintillating Scions,” this made her so confident that she not only participated in a poetry competition held by Ledbury Poetry Fest UK but also won the contest. She had  been invited to London to read her poem in front of a huge audience in July ,2019. It was an out of the world experience for my entire family. We are still in the dreamland of literature.

Well there are many more people with many more stories and this is just the beginning.
